Nerf War at Spokane Paintball Club {Spokane, WA Children's Photographer}

Riley has been going to the Nerf games at the Spokane Paintball Club now for awhile. It is a morning full of fun for kids ages 5 and up. They all come with their nerf gear- guns, darts, and goggles and run around shooting each other for 3 hours. The first game it is the kids againest the "monster", then they broke up into teams and played just each other. The last game it was the kids vs. the Dads. This was my first time coming and it was a ton of fun to watch, and of course take pictures. Although not my usual picture quality, nor genre it was a lot of fun, and of course I had to share with all of you.

If you'd like more information about the Nerf Wars (it is a monthly event) you can contact the Spokane Paintball Club at 509-474-1405. Or give me a buzz and I'll pass along the details as soon as I hear.

Homeschool Back to School Pictures {Spokane, WA Children's Photographer}

I was homeschooled all the way from 1st grade through Graduation. It is something I am very thankful to my mom for doing. It was a huge commitment and sacrifice of herself for me and all my siblings. She has 5 graduations under her belt, and 2 left to go, so she isn't done yet.

I wanted to pay tribute to all those who are making the same sacrifice by offering a very special, limited time School Picture Session. Since I am the one doing them they of course will not be a typical school picture. I love all things out of the ordinary!

You will have your choice of a field session, a studio session, or downtown / urban session. These will be open to children ages 4 through 17. To reserve your spot all you need to do is give me a call to set up your time, and then pay a $10 deposit to hold your date and time.

Scavenger Hunt {Spokane, WA Photographer}

This month I'm doing something fun, just for me, well the kids are having fun- at least most of the time too- I'm participating in a scavenger hunt. This one is hosted by my favorite photography board- Clickin' Moms! All month long we've been given the challenge to go out and find different items, take their photographs, and then post them on the board. At the end of the month the top 10 will receive the most amazing prizes donated by our vendors! I'm doing my best to collect all my points. I want to WIN! Those of you that know me know that I'm not generally not competive, but as Steve has informed me I'm obsessed! I've cooked certain things, gone special places, and even painted my toes a specific color all to earn a point. Yep, this blog post is going to get me 2 glorious points. ;-) Some things have been easy to find and readily around the house- a child in sunglasses, a fan, child's favorite book, and a picture of the outside of our house. Some though have taken some hunting- a rotary phone, a rubber chicken, a smurf, a purple car, and a rusted roof. Some have me a bit stumped and I'm still searching. If you know where I can find- bagpipes, a dunk tank, an acorn, a foam finger, or a lacrosse stick give me a holler!!! =) It's been fun running into different people to get their help- bought an ice cream cone (triple scoop none the less) from an old friend, ran into another old friend I hadn't seen in ages, and snapped a picture of her pregnant belly, and of course all my family- Carrie, Tori, Isaiah, and Johnny all helped out! Johnny gets an honorable mention for all his enthusiam!

Here is a small snippet of some of the photos we've gotten. If you want to go to my flikr stream you can see all of my Scavenger Hunt images

Treasures {Photographer Spokane, WA}

Months of searching has finally paid off! I've been hunting for some fun furniture to use for my portrait sessions- especially a large chair and a bench. This morning I drove to Coeur d'Alene, ID (about a 40 minute drive each way) to check out a chair I found on Craigslist, the price was a steal, so I didn't mind the drive. While I was there I decided to head downtown since it seems I'm constantly seeing signs advertising fun second hand, antique furnishings. It paid off! I found a bench- even better than what I thought I could find at the price-, 3 vintage suitcases, and a vintage wooden children's chair! With my car full I headed home, already dreaming of my next trip. I {heart} Coeur 'd Alene!
